I bought this for a 5-year-old and have also tried it out myself (I am under the weight limit). It is well-made, and it is very fast and smooth. However, if your child is not much of a dare-devil, you may not want something that goes faster and smoother than everything else on the market. It makes the ride a little more intimidating.
